valentine's DIY

Last year for Valentine's Day instead of making a card, I made my husband a list of things I love about him.  52 reasons, to be exact.  I originally found the idea on Pinterest (originally from here), and loved the idea so much.  It's a creative way to organize a list and it's a great keepsake.

We had extra decks of cards around the house and then I just had to come up with a list.  Sometimes I found it hard to verbalize the reasons (especially since there isn't a lot of space on each card!), but it's a really good exercise to think of all the wonderful things about your significant other.

Once I had my list, I took leftover paper from when we made our wedding programs and wrote out each reason.  I used Mod Podge to secure the pieces to the cards.  I then punched holes in each card (using the Joker or rules card as the template for the holes).  I put them all in order and bound them with one inch rings from an office store.

It's not a difficult craft, but my husband was really surprised and he really loved it!

Are you making anything special for your valentine this year?

  3. So sweet and so much better than any so bought present. If I received this I would be absolutely thrilled, it's the thought and the effort that counts and clearly you've put so much of both into this present! :)
